  2. Welcome in the fascinating world of learning and multimedia!

  4. PURPOSE OF THIS COURSEWARE
  5. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  6.   Primarily oriented for dentists, professionals & students alike, this
  7. courseware is about the Anatomy & Anaesthesia of the Mandibular Nerve,
  8. which AANM stands for.
  9.  
  10.   It contains 3 chapters covering the theoretical information: Osteology,
  11. Dissection & Clinic; and a Quiz section: it's a questionnaire designed
  12. to test the newly acquired knowledge on dissection.
  13.  
  14.   The main menu and the first screen of each chapter are fully functional,
  15. except for certain navigational functions. That way you can click on the
  16. different buttons to see what can happen. Each chapter has a "Where am I?"
  17. button which shows you its content.

  20. THE PACKAGE
  21. ^^^^^^^^^^^
  22.   To give you a glimse of what kind and how much information is packed in
  23. this courseware, a demo package was prepared to fit on two high density
  24. diskettes to facilitate its distribution.
  25.  
  26.   All through the courseware, the content is supported by over hundred
  27. digitized photographs & schematics in 256 colors, on which areas are
  28. identified in different ways, by clicking on highlighted words in the
  29. text accompanying them.

  31.   The document was developed with ToolBook 1.5. It is the product of
  32. several hundred hours of work at the prepatory level as well as in the
  33. actual production of the document. We hope that the quality of this
  34. work meets with your expectations.

  36.   This document is a DEMO version of the dentistry courseware. The
  37. package is driven by the distribuable runtime version of ToolBook
  38. called "TBOOK.EXE" (included).

  41. OUR GOAL

  43.   Our goal is to present the user with a wide range of different media
  44. input, otherwise spreaded around: library, laboratory, classroom, etc.
  45. It is available on IBM PC's and Macintosh, both in English & French.

  48. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  49. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  50.   IBM & Compatible 386 or better.
  51.   4 Mb of RAM.
  52.   Hard disk with a least of 15 Mb avalable (2.9 Mb for the demo).
  53.   13 inches color screen, with 8 bits video card (256 colors).
  54.   Windows multimedia, version 3.0 or newer.

  56. INSTALLATION OF THE DEMO
  57. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  58.   -1- create a temporary directory on the hard disk;
  59.   -2- copy the content of both demo diskettes in that directory;
  60.   -3- start Windows if it's not already done;
  61.   -4- open File Manager and double clic on INSTALL.EXE file,
  62.   -5- specify the directory where you want to install the demo;
  63.   -7- when installation is done, you sould remove the temporary directory.

  66. Licensing is a very important thing to encourage developers to continue
  67. their work without being discourage by illegal copying of their documents.
  68.  
  69. For that reason, one package of the courseware must be acquired for each
  70. machine on which it will be installed.

  72. To reduce the cost of multiple installation, we offer discounts depending
  73. on the number of packages ordered.
